The Halifax Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate Mr. Stephen McNeil on his re-election and would also like to congratulate new and returning MLA’s.

The Halifax Chamber of Commerce saw many of their Member issues represented in the Liberal party platform, including:

  • Increasing the income threshold for the 3% small business taxation rate
  • Reducing taxes for small businesses
  • Increasing provincial immigrant programs to bring more immigrants to our province
  • Implementing the Atlantic Immigration Pilot, allowing entry for 800 new immigrants each year in key economic sectors based on labour shortages
  • Doubling the Graduate to Opportunity Program

The Halifax Chamber of Commerce is committed to working with government on issues that are important to Chamber Members including reducing the tax burden for business, common sense regulations and a reduction in red tape and the promotion for immigration and youth employment.
