Ontario based Take To The Sky Jewellery's special edition of unique necklaces featuring Silent Screen stars will be available to the public during the 2011 Kansas Silent Film Festival.

(February 15, 2011 - Topeka, Kansas) In a tribute to the fabulous stars of the silent screen, exquisite necklaces featuring celebrities from the glamorous pre-talkie days, meticulously handcrafted by Take To The Sky Jewellery, a Canadian company, will be available for sale during the 15th Annual Kansas Silent Film Festival.

The Festival which takes place from February 25th to 27th at Washburn University has as a theme this year the First Academy Awards, 1927-28. Films will feature such greats as Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy and Janet Gaynor.

Eryn Leedale-Merwart, owner of Take To The Sky Jewellery states, “I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful Festival. Since I was very young, silent films have captivated me. When I started designing jewellery, it seemed a natural sequence to produce a line featuring these actors that held such an important place in my life.”

Leedale-Merwart’s Silent Screen Stars necklaces are exquisitely handcrafted with images of the legendary stars carefully encased in glass and sterling silver. The collection includes Gloria Swanson, Rudolph Valentino and Mary Pickford among others.

As a supporter of this silent art, Leedale-Merwart will be donating fifteen percent of proceeds to the Kansas Silent Film Festival. “It is just a way of giving back to an industry that has given me so much.” she says.

Jane Bartholomew, with the Festival states, “We are very pleased to have Eryn’s necklaces available. They will certainly be a very fitting element to the Festival.”
