Montreal, QC-Impact Video provided outdoor LED video screen support for the historic kick off of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch relay on October 30, 2009 in Victoria, British Colombia.

The site of the BC legislature was chosen as the starting point for the Olympic flame to begin its 28,000 mile cross country trip that will conclude with the lighting of the Olympic flame on February 12, 2010 in Vancouver to officially open the games. More than 7,000 Canadians gathered under drizzling gray skies from Victoria's Inner Harbor to the BC legislature as the flame arrived from Greece aboard a Canadian forces C-130 cargo plane.

Impact provided an 18 x 24 Illuminator Truck Mounted LED featuring the latest in Panasonic Astrovision LED screen technology. The Astrovision AZ-LE12F boasts a surface mount LED in 12mm resolution to provide superior contrast ratios to any outdoor SMD product currently available. Additionally, the AZ-SU 400K 17 Bit HD processing delivers outstanding image quality with respect to brightness, depth of color and pixel uniformity.

The arrival of the flame marked the beginning of the journey that will take the flame on a route across Canada and back for the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics on February 12, 2010. The largest relay in history is scheduled to visit over 1,000 communities along its 106-day journey. In addition to the large media presence, in attendance were First Nations representatives, schoolchildren and dignitaries including Prime Minister Stephen Harper, B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell, VANOC officials and the mayors of the host cities of both Vancouver and Whistler.

Impact Video was specifically chosen for this project as a result of their ability to consistently deliver outstanding image quality, superior equipment, service, and technical support that has become so well known throughout the special event industry.

Impact Video is North America's premier provider of Indoor/Outdoor LED Display technology and related production services. Impact has over eighteen years experience within the corporate, entertainment, production, sports & special event markets.
