Online women’s magazine asks readers for help in determining the hottest men of 2009

Divine.ca, the bilingual online magazine for Canadian women, is gearing up to present its list of the hottest men of 2009, but not before they give their readers a chance to have their say.

Beginning today, divine.ca readers have been invited to cast their votes online for who they think are the men who deserve a spot on this year’s Top 100 Men list.

In 2008, the men who secured a spot on the magazine’s first annual list of “Top 100 Men” were considered to be the hottest men in their respective industries, with Daniel Craig taking the No. 1 spot, and Barack Obama and Heath Ledger capturing the second and third spots respectively.

Similar to last year, candidates for this year’s list have been nominated based on the indelible impression they have made in 2009 in the fields of entertainment, music, politics, sports, and more.

A few of the candidates on this year’s list include:

Robert Pattinson, one of 2009's hottest heartthrobs who will once again make women swoon in the upcoming film New Moon.

Chris Martin, the singer who won three Grammy awards this year with his Coldplay band mates.

Sidney Crosby, the 22-year-old captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins who helped his team win the Stanley Cup in the 2009 playoffs.

Samir Khullar, the Montreal native, also known as Sugar Sammy, is one of comedy's rising stars.

“We’re very excited about getting our readers involved in the voting process for this year’s Top 100 Men list,” says Maya Meyouhas, Editor-in-Chief at divine.ca. “Their input means a lot to us and it will certainly be interesting to find out who they think should make the list for 2009.”

To determine who’s hot and who’s not, readers are asked to rate each candidate on a scale of 1 (not) to 10 (hot). Voting will stay open until December 6th. The final results of which men end up making the final cut onto this year’s Top 100 Men list will be revealed on December 21.
