A global organization of sales, marketing, and revenue management hospitality professionals, HSMAI is committed to putting forth educational programming that helps hospitality industry professionals' fuel sales, drive revenue and inspire marketing.

Announced at the HSMAI 2014 Mike Leven Leadership Conference held in March at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada, HSMAI presented 26 Best of the Best awards and 4 Innovator awards among the 20 North American chapters in competition. The B.C. chapter was honored with 1 innovator award and three "Best of the Best" awards in the following categories: Communication Marketing, Membership Retention & Development Programs and, Partnership/Sponsorship Development Programs.

"We are proud that our chapter was recognized for its work to bring great speakers and events to British Columbia," said Robyn Wosk-Peter, founding board member and President of HSMAI BC's Board. "The incredible growth we have seen is evidence of the need for organizations that offer tools and insights into generating and supporting hospitality growth in the province. I am grateful to my partners on the board and the support of our community of members."

HSMAI BC is following the awards with its second education and networking event of the year. Taking place at 3:30 on April 16th at the Sheraton Wall Center, the presentation features award-winning journalist and communications strategist Paul Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan will share practical steps to follow in moments of crisis; such as, when a disgruntled employee turns to Twitter, or a guest turns to the evening news to air a grievance. Named one of the 20 most prominent British Columbians on the Internet by the Vancouver Sun, Mr. Sullivan served as the Western Editor of the Globe and Mail and Managing Editor of the Vancouver Sun.
