Lufa Farms' Lauren Rathmell to participate in Rooftop Farm panel.

WireService.ca Press Release (02/26/2014) Boston - Lauren Rathmell, greenhouse director and a founder of rooftop grower Lufa Farms, will introduce her Montreal-based company, its pesticide-free produce and its high-tech farming technology to attendees at the second annual Massachusetts Urban Farming Conference on Saturday, March 8, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Northeastern University's Curry Student Center, 346 Huntington Ave.

Rathmell is part of the rooftop urban farming panel -- moderated by Massachusetts Agriculture Resources Commissioner Greg Watson -- to commence at 11:10 a.m. Fellow panelists are John Stoddard, co-founder of Higher Ground Farm, and Brendan Shea, co-founder of Recover Green Roofs.

The panelists will share best practices on year-round growing, hydroponics, crop choices, and water management, as well as business operations for rooftop farms.
