Ex illis™, a Canadian game revolutionising the common notion of board game, is arriving on the market. The official launch in North America and France will take place on the 13th of November 2009.

After two years of developing the game in its studios in Quebec, Bastion inc. announces the official date of its global launch for its new miniatures game, Ex illis™. Bastion is a Canadian company which creates miniatures games using technology in order to improve the gaming experience by making it both more accessible to beginners and richer on the gameplay aspect for advanced players.

In addition to greatly improving the gaming experience, technology allows Bastion to offer its partners a unique and innovative business model: a real revolution on the market, which is deeply rooted within the company’s mission and vision. Henceforth, thanks to Bastion’s business partnership model, managing a game shop is not necessarily synonymous with taking enormous risks or difficult inventory and shelves space managing.

Ex illis™ is a hybrid miniatures game: it combines technological power to conviviality of human interaction characterizing traditional board games. Ex illis™ is played with 70 to a hundred miniatures on a squared game mat and a technological element (iPod Touch, iPhone, computer, laptop, etc).

The game mat allows the player to have a global view of the game and make strategic decisions, which is why the players have to physically be there. As for technology, it takes care of all calculations, rules application according to each player’s choices, and of the graphic communication of results, thus replacing dice, rulers as well as rulebooks!

Ex illis™ will be offered everywhere in Canada, the United States of America and France starting Friday the 13th of November. Moreover, Bastion is currently initiating discussions with other specialized shops.
