The Prince Albert Board of Police Commissioners have approved the Recruitment Process for the hiring of the next Chief of Police for the Prince Albert Police Service.

WireService.ca Media Release (02/16/2018) Prince Albert, SK - The Board has approved a Screening Committee. The Screening Committee will consist of the Acting Board Chairperson Mayor Greg Dionne, City Manager Jim Toye, Rick Sanderson appointed by the Prince Albert Grand Council and Member at Large Pat Weir.

The members of the Screening Committee have both operational and administrative experience and will be able to identify the attributes required for the selection process.

The Screening Committee will be reviewing the applications received, completing reference checks, and thereafter forwarding a recommendation to the Hiring Committee on the candidates to be selected for interviews.

The Hiring Committee will consist of all seven Board Members that are currently appointed to the Prince Albert Board of Police Commissioners. This includes Mayor Greg Dionne, Councillor Dennis Nowoselsky, Councillor Evert Botha and Members at Large Patty Hughes, Jerry Paskiw, Brent MacDonald and Linda Greyeyes-Highway.

The Hiring Committee will be reviewing the notes submitted by the Screening Committee on the candidates; and will be interviewing the selected candidates for our next Chief of Police.

Following an extensive interview process, the Hiring Committee will make the final selection on the new Chief of Police for the Prince Albert Police Service.

The appointment of the new Chief of Police will not be a quick process. This is a major decision that affects our community and the Board will take the necessary time to make that decision.

Once the new Chief of Police has been appointed by the Prince Albert Board of Police Commissioners, an announcement will be made to our community.
