Just in time for summer weather, Friends of Rutherford House Society (FORHS) along with Digital Fractal Technologies are pleased to announce the launch of a new Walking Tour Mobile App now available for download on IOS and Android. Media Release (05/09/2017) Edmonton, AB - Fun, informative and interactive, the App will guide Edmontonians and visitors through walking tours around some of Edmonton's most beautiful and historical locations.

The first tour available connects Rutherford House to the University of Alberta campus, exploring the early history of the University, from its founding in 1908 to 1939. The tour is 2km in distance and takes the average leisurely walker 30 minutes to complete. Plus, those who complete all nine stops will unlock a bonus feature! The tour is family-friendly and fully wheelchair accessible. More historical walks will be available soon for locations such as the River Valley and Legislative Grounds.

The development of the App was made possible with the assistance of the Edmonton Heritage Council (EHC). EHC provides leadership, support and programs to help Edmontonians research, preserve, interpret and advocate for their heritage.
