The third foreign player to take to the ice next season at Rittner Boam Sky Alps is Ethan Zepola. The Canadian arrives in Alto Adige from the second Slovakian championship, and with the speed and technical accuracy that characterizes him, he will increase the danger of the Rhonones attack.

Szypula was born on January 28, 1997 in London, Ontario (Canada). He spent his early years of ice hockey playing with the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League, where he impressed with good and consistent results. In 2018, he transferred to the University of Western Ontario, where he continues to play American Universities ice hockey. Last year, the 26-year-old went abroad and was signed by HK Dukla Michalovce on a one-month trial deal.

With three points from seven matches, the Slovak First Division team was not entirely satisfied, as Szypula moved to HK MSK Ziar nad Hronom in the Slovak Second League. There, the right-hander scored 27 points (8 goals) in 30 games. Now for the center, who is 1.80m tall and weighs 77kg, comes the move to Rittner Buam SkyAlps. His physique already allows you to guess: Szypula is not strong, but he can convince with excellent skating and accurate “maneuvering”.

Szypula arrives at Ritten showered with great praise. “He’s a very quick player and very technical. He’s also very enthusiastic and very hardworking, he’s a hard worker who doesn’t disdain the defensive phase,” note Dan Todden and Alexander Isath, Rittner Buam SkyAlps Sporting Directors. “He is looking forward to starting the season with us and we are also happy to have him come to Renon. It is a great enrichment for the Alpine Hockey League.”
