Legendary Canadian Trio Marks End of an Era After More Than Five Decades Together
TORONTO — Legendary Canadian country, folk and bluegrass group The Good Brothers will take the stage at TD Music Hall in Toronto on October 24, 2026, as part of the Larry Good Retirement Tour, marking a significant milestone in the band’s celebrated career spanning more than half a century.
Presented by Massey Hall, the performance will celebrate the enduring legacy of one of Canada’s most recognized roots music acts while serving as a farewell tour for Larry Good, the group’s banjo player, vocalist, and youngest member. The concert will also feature support from emerging Canadian country and folk artist Graham Trude.
For generations of Canadian music fans, The Good Brothers have been synonymous with traditional roots music, blending country, folk and bluegrass influences into a distinctive sound that has earned them national acclaim. Over the course of their career, the trio has collected eight Juno Awards, been inducted into multiple halls of fame, and toured extensively throughout North America and Europe.
Now, after more than 50 years performing together, the band is preparing for a major transition.
“I want to thank not only our fans, but most importantly my talented brothers Bruce and Brian for their love and support throughout the years of my career. I will always cherish and remember the amazing times that we’ve shared together travelling to new countries and meeting wonderful new friends and fans along the way. I will be forever grateful.” – Larry Good
A Career Built on Family, Music and Longevity
The Good Brothers’ story is rooted in family. The trio consists of brothers Bruce Good, Brian Good and Larry Good, whose close-knit musical partnership has endured through decades of industry change and evolving musical trends.
Bruce Good serves as vocalist and autoharp player, while Brian Good contributes vocals and guitar. Larry Good’s banjo playing and vocal performances have long been a defining part of the band’s sound.
Their longevity is rare in the music business, particularly for family groups. Over five decades, The Good Brothers built a loyal audience through extensive touring and a catalogue that blends traditional and contemporary roots music influences.
Their upcoming Toronto performance is expected to be one of the most notable stops on the retirement tour, giving fans an opportunity to celebrate Larry Good’s contributions and the band’s legacy.
Recent Recordings Highlight Personal and Musical Milestones
The retirement announcement follows a productive period for the group. In 2025, The Good Brothers marked their 50-plus years in music with the release of two new singles.
One of those releases, “Now That You’re Gone,” serves as a tribute to Bruce Good’s late son Dallas Good, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 48. Dallas was widely known as a founding member of acclaimed Canadian garage rock and alternative country band The Sadies, alongside his brother Travis Good.
The recording carries added significance through the participation of The Sadies, whose members provided full-band accompaniment for the track alongside The Good Brothers.
The band also released “Fire In The Rain,” a high-energy love song featuring lead vocals from Brian Good. Together, the two singles showcased both the emotional depth and musical vitality that have characterized the group’s work throughout its career.
Graham Trude to Open Toronto Performance
Opening the October concert will be Canadian country and folk artist Graham Trude, a rising performer who has developed close ties with The Good Brothers in recent years.
Trude produced the band’s most recent recordings through his Countrycore record label and is currently promoting his latest full-length solo album, Northern Lights. His appearance at TD Music Hall adds a contemporary element to a night focused on celebrating one of Canada’s most enduring roots music acts.
