(ANSA) – MUNICH, Jan 7 – “Perished” by the absences caused by Covid, Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich lost 2-1 at home to Borussia Mönchengladbach and can now see the advantage over another Borussia, Dortmund, if tomorrow the Gialonieri wins in Frankfurt against Eintracht.
Bayern would have liked to postpone this match, but that was not the case with Neuer remaining in quarantine in the Maldives, where he was on vacation, and several other illustrious absentees, coach Julian Nagelsmann employed six young players, including striker Malik Tillmann from The 19-year-old made his starting lineup and was replaced by the talented Paul Waner during the second half.
The latter, at 16 years and 15 days old, became the youngest rookie in the history of Bayern Munich.
Robert Lewandowski was on the field and, as usual, made his mark by scoring the Bavarian advantage, but Mönchengladbach (without Zacharias, also outside the Covid team) turned the game around thanks to goals from Neuhaus and Lehner.
