The long-awaited third installment of the movie franchise Sherlock Holmes Starring Robert Downey Jr. Hasn’t had much luck yet. The movie has been in development for nearly a decade, and apparently, around the time production looks like it is now One step away from unlocking, The pandemic inevitably forced Warner Bros. to review its plans.
In recent months, silence has once again fallen on the project, but in the past few hours important statements have arrived from Guy Ritchie – director of the first two films of the franchise – who revealed how the entire production is now on his shoulders the hero of the story:
Honestly, I left everything in my hands Robert Downey Jr.. Robert wanted to take responsibility for the project. The ball has now passed to him, so now he’s fully handling the script and production. I pulled out because my time on this project can now be said to be over.
This update bodes well for fans, as the actor seems determined to bring the new chapter to the big screen. However, recent changes to the upper floors of Warner Bros. — which has now been merged with Discovery — to review the film catalog of the fledgling flagship film, an item that could explain recent false starts in production.
The two titles produced so far, Sherlock Holmes In 2009 and by Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows In 2011, they grossed a whopping $524 and $543 million at the worldwide box office. Faced with this similar success, the creation of a third chapter seemed practically certain, only to end up in limbo caused in the first phase in part by Robert Downey Jr.’s very busy commitments to Marvel Studios.
So now it appears that the new appointed director Dexter Fletcheralready behind a camera Rocket Man, I appreciate the biography dedicated to Elton John. If the project is to pan out, Downey Jr. is also certain to return to the cast as the most famous detective of all time and Jude Law As trusted doctor John Watson.
