The Witcher remakethe remake of the first game in the CD Projekt RED series, will only hit stores After the publication of Polaristhe next chapter’s codename commonly identified as “The Witcher 4”. This was revealed by Adam Kiesinski, the head of the Polish company, during the presentation of the financial statements for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2022.
Kiciński also explained that The Witcher Remake will be largely done using Technologies Created for Polaris. The two titles will be partially developed in parallel and this way once the new The Witcher is published, part of the work done can be reused to remake the first chapter.
“Going back to The Witcher Remake and when it comes out, yeah, we’ll release it after Polaris, which is a result of how we think about this project. (Actually) I think The Witcher Remake will be very much based on Polaris technologies,” said Kiciński.
“So The Witcher Remake will be partly developed in parallel with Polaris, but once Polaris is released, everything about Polaris will be in its final form, and it will be partly reused in the remake.”
Polaris is the first CD Projekt RED project developed using the Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine. At the moment, the game does not yet have a release date, but according to Kiciński’s previous data, it will not be on the market before 2025. It can be a small fee for the upgrade, since Developers will make various changes. For example, it was revealed that the remake will be open to the world.
Currently the bulk of the workforce is concentrated in the Polish company Phantom Libertythe expected expansion of Cyberpunk 2077 that will arrive in 2023. In this regard, Kiciński revealed that the development of the downloadable content is in the final stages.
