Is it automatic for a child or teenager to play sports? Schools and sports clubs play a crucial role. Therefore, the “La Potenza dello sport” project, promoted for the second year by the municipality of Potenza Picena, was important and included nursery school through to middle school. The animator was Professor Alessandra Mesa, teacher of physical education in “Da Vinci” in Potenza Picina, together with her colleague Stefano Musella. More than seventy children participate in multiple sports disciplines “for free after school hours – explains Mesa – an important way to enhance everyone through sports and make children grow. Above all, make them have fun.” “The project, which began in March and ended in May, undoubtedly represents a link – underlines the deputy mayor Giulio Casciotti – between the school world and the sports federations of Potenza who have joined with enthusiasm”. The disciplines that the boys were able to get close to are athletics, basketball, volleyball, soccer, hockey, cycling, baseball and tennis. Sports clubs that have collaborated on the project: Union Picena Calcio, Volley Torresi, Sacrata Basket, Hockey Club Potenza Picena, Futsal Potenza Picena, Cycling School Potentia Rinascita, Baseball Club le Pantere, Amadown, Jigoro Kano Judo PP and Tennis Club Porto Potenza.
