TORONTO — Prime Video will premiere The Last Sunrise, a romantic drama based on the novel by bestselling author Anna Todd, on Aug. 26, adding another original feature film to its growing slate of global releases.
Directed by Carlson Young, the film stars Maia Reficco, Fernando Lindez, and Eva Longoria in a story centered on love, family and resilience. Adapted from Todd’s novel, the film follows a college student navigating a life-changing summer while confronting both a chronic illness and long-held family secrets.

Set on the Spanish island of Mallorca, The Last Sunrise follows Ry (Maia Reficco), a college student living with a chronic illness who travels with her mother for a summer getaway.
While abroad, Ry unexpectedly falls in love with Julián (Fernando Lindez), encouraging her to embrace life with renewed optimism and spontaneity. As the relationship deepens, however, her declining health and previously hidden family secrets begin to surface, threatening to alter the course of what was meant to be a transformative summer.
