Oklahoma singer-songwriter Kaitlin Butts has received the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame’s Rising Star Award, adding another recognition to a career that has been gaining attention across the U.S. country and Americana music scene.
The honour was presented during a ceremony in Muskogee, Oklahoma, as Butts prepared to perform at the Muskogee Balloon Festival. The award recognizes emerging Oklahoma musicians whose careers show significant potential for continued growth and broader success.

Butts accepted the award before an audience that included members of her band, Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame board members, invited guests and previous Hall of Fame inductees The Red Dirt Rangers.
The Red Dirt Rangers have been an influence on Butts’ career, and founding member John Cooper highlighted the years of work behind her growing profile.

A native of Comanche, Oklahoma, Butts has developed a musical identity that combines traditional country influences with Americana and Red Dirt sounds.

Hall of Fame Highlights Oklahoma Roots
The award was presented by Oklahoma music historian and Rogers State University professor Dr. Hugh Foley, one of the original founding members of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
Foley recognized Butts’ commitment to songwriting and her place within Oklahoma’s history of producing musicians who have influenced American music.
