Prime Video has released a new trailer and official teaser artwork for Blade Runner 2099, confirming that all eight episodes of the science-fiction limited series will premiere worldwide on November 25, 2026.
The announcement was made October 10 during a panel at New York Comic Con, where cast members and producers discussed the upcoming production. Developed by Amazon MGM Studios and Alcon Television Group, the series will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories, including Canada.
Blade Runner 2099 Expands the Science-Fiction Franchise
Set 50 years after the events of the 2017 film Blade Runner 2049, the new series explores a transformed Los Angeles where humanity no longer controls the city’s future.
The story follows Cora, a fugitive attempting to escape her past by assuming one final identity as a Blade Runner.
Her circumstances force her into an unlikely partnership with Olwen, a Replicant approaching the end of her lifespan.
Together, they pursue a runaway carrying information that could destabilize the city’s fragile social order.
The series continues the franchise’s exploration of artificial intelligence, identity, mortality and the relationship between humans and Replicants.
Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer Lead the Cast
Academy Award-winning actor Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer headline the production.
Dimitri Abold, known for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, and Lewis Gribben, recognized for Somewhere Boy, also appear as series regulars.
The recurring cast includes Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke and Maurizio Lombardi.
Several cast members participated in the New York Comic Con presentation, including Yeoh, Schafer, Abold, Gribben and Needham.
