The romantic thriller, starring Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego García, is scheduled to premiere exclusively on the streaming platform on September 9.

Prime Video Expands Partnership With Bestselling Author Mercedes Ron
Drawn Together is the first instalment in the Enfrentados duology, which includes the novels Drawn Together and Drawn Apart. The project continues Prime Video’s collaboration with Mercedes Ron, following previous adaptations of her successful Culpables trilogy and Tell Me Softly.
The streaming platform unveiled the teaser trailer alongside a new collection of images featuring the film’s principal cast. Leading the production are Ester Expósito, known for her role in Venus, and Hugo Diego García, who appeared in The Substance.
The supporting cast includes Eric Masip as Iván, Pablo Molinero as Alejandro, Zoe Bonafonte as Gabriela, Lluís Homar as Logan, and Joaquín Ferreira as Ray.
The release underscores Prime Video’s ongoing investment in international-language productions aimed at reaching global audiences while capitalizing on established literary franchises with strong fan followings.
Story Blends Romance, Suspense and Family Power Dynamics
The film centres on Marfil Cortés, the daughter of a wealthy Spanish business magnate whose seemingly perfect life in New York is disrupted after she is kidnapped and later released under mysterious circumstances.
In response to the incident, her father appoints Sebastian Moore as her personal bodyguard. As the pair spend more time together, a complex relationship develops despite their contrasting personalities and professional boundaries.
According to the official synopsis, Marfil’s independent spirit clashes with Sebastian’s guarded and reserved nature. However, their emotional connection deepens as they confront growing dangers and uncover secrets that challenge their perceptions of those around them.
The story eventually shifts from New York to Spain, where escalating threats force the characters to navigate an environment filled with uncertainty, deception and hidden motives.
By combining elements of romance, mystery and suspense, Drawn Together seeks to appeal to audiences who have embraced previous adaptations of Mercedes Ron’s novels.
Experienced Creative Team Behind the Production
The film is produced by Pokeepsie Films, a Banijay Iberia company known for projects including Veneciafrenia, 30 monedas and El bar.
Acclaimed filmmakers Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang serve as producers, while Óscar Pedraza directs the production. Pedraza is recognized for his work on series such as Patria and Vivir Sin Permiso.
The screenplay has been adapted by Sofía Cuenca, whose previous credits include Culpa Tuya and Culpa Nuestra.
The creative team’s experience in both television and film is expected to help translate the bestselling source material into a cinematic experience designed for international streaming audiences.
Part of Prime Video’s Growing Global Content Strategy
The launch of Drawn Together reflects Prime Video’s broader strategy of expanding its portfolio of international original productions while leveraging established intellectual property with proven commercial appeal.
As competition intensifies among global streaming platforms, literary adaptations continue to serve as a key content category capable of attracting dedicated fan communities and generating worldwide interest.
For Prime Video, the September release represents another addition to a growing slate of international productions aimed at strengthening subscriber engagement across multiple markets.
Drawn Together will debut exclusively on Prime Video on September 9, introducing viewers to the first chapter of the Enfrentados story and setting the stage for the adaptation of the duology’s second novel, Drawn Apart.
