Prime Video is bringing its NBA coverage to Canadian Prime members for the first time, unveiling a 2026-27 schedule that includes regular-season matchups, the Emirates NBA Cup, international games and extensive postseason coverage culminating in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Canadian launch begins Oct. 23 with a doubleheader featuring the reigning champion New York Knicks against the Boston Celtics at 7 p.m. ET, followed by the Houston Rockets against the Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs at 9:30 p.m. ET at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
Prime Video Expands NBA Offering to Canadian Viewers
The expansion represents a significant addition to Prime Video’s Canadian sports portfolio as streaming platforms continue to compete for live sports audiences.

The schedule includes several high-profile storylines. Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs will play in Paris on Jan. 14 as part of the NBA Global Games, while Jaylen Brown is scheduled to make his first return to Boston as a Philadelphia 76er on Jan. 21. Giannis Antetokounmpo is set to return to Milwaukee with the Miami Heat on Jan. 28.
Raptors and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Featured on Prime
Canadian basketball fans will have several notable games to follow. The Toronto Raptors are scheduled to face the Detroit Pistons on Nov. 20 and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Jan. 7.
Canadian star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder will appear eight times on Prime Video during the season, including games against San Antonio on Feb. 11 and Philadelphia on Feb. 13.
The Knicks, 76ers, Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers will each make 10 appearances on the streaming service.
Emirates NBA Cup Takes Major Role in Prime Schedule
Prime Video will carry five consecutive weeks of Emirates NBA Cup group-play doubleheaders beginning Oct. 30. The opening night includes the Knicks visiting LeBron James and the 76ers, followed by Luka Dončić and the Lakers against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
The knockout stage begins with quarterfinal games on Dec. 4 and Dec. 5, followed by semifinals on Dec. 8. Prime Video will exclusively stream the championship game on Dec. 11 from Hinkle Fieldhouse at Butler University.
International games will also form part of the schedule. The Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans will meet in Paris on Jan. 14 and Manchester on Jan. 17. Prime Video will additionally carry 11 Saturday matchups scheduled for European prime-time viewing.
NBA Play-In Tournament and Eastern Conference Finals Coming to Prime
Prime Video’s postseason coverage will expand significantly in April 2027 with exclusive coverage of all six NBA Play-In Tournament games across three nights. Teams ranked seventh through 10th in each conference will compete for the final two playoff positions.
The service will then stream selected first- and second-round playoff games before presenting the Eastern Conference Finals exclusively for the first time.
Steve Nash and Kyle Lowry Join NBA on Prime Coverage
Prime Video is also building its Canadian-facing presentation around recognizable basketball figures. Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Steve Nash and NBA champion Kyle Lowry will contribute analysis alongside other former players and basketball personalities.
Coverage will begin 30 minutes before games with NBA on Prime Pregame, broadcast from Amazon MGM Studios in Culver City, California. The Half will provide halftime coverage, while NBA Nightcap will serve as a one-hour postgame program featuring player interviews and analysis. The Crossover will connect games during doubleheaders.
Canadian viewers will be able to watch NBA on Prime in English through the Prime Video app and web service across compatible smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, game consoles and streaming devices.
The NBA addition further expands Prime Video’s Canadian live-sports business, which already includes properties such as NHL on Prime, the PWHL, Premier Boxing Champions, the NWSL and ONE Championship. With NBA Cup games, international contests and a deep postseason package, the 2026-27 season gives Prime Video a substantially larger presence in Canada’s competitive sports-streaming market.
