However, the movie, nor its sequel in 2018, never reveals who really is between Bill (Stellan Skarsgård), Harry (Colin Firth), and Sam (Pierce Brosnan). However, in a video interview with Vanity Fair, the actress admitted that she had always hoped that this would be Bill. Speaking about a scene with Skarsgård, he says:
It’s one of the purest moments in the movie, because there’s so much pride in Stellan, but also so much shock and fear, but also complete acceptance in such a short time. It is a perfect squared moment of the circuit. she is beautiful. It’s fun too. Comedy is also very skillful. And I guess thanks to this moment, I’ve always secretly wished Stellan was her real dad. Bill, I’m sorry.
