Baby Pit Stop is the new San Giorgio Ragazzi area for mothers who want to feed their babies while they are away from home.
Pistoia – A space is created in the library where mothers can breastfeed their babies. Baby Pit Stop is the new area of San Giorgio Ragazzi opening tomorrow, created for the week of International Children’s Day, which falls on November 20 to celebrate the 1989 adoption and ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The project is the result of a collaboration with UNICEF Pistoia and starts at 5:30 pm tomorrow with an official initiative that will be attended by Vice Mayor and Social Inclusion Policy Adviser Ana Maria Celeste, Counselor for Activities and Cultural Institutes Margherita Semplici and Head of UNICEF Pistoia Division Maria Laura Contini.
Baby Pit Stop is among the initiatives implemented by UNICEF Italy to guarantee the rights enshrined in the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and is part of the UNICEF program Baby-friendly hospitals and communities. It provides for the establishment of areas equipped to accommodate mothers in need of breastfeeding outside the home. This is the first goal that San Giorgio has achieved to continue joining the Friends of Children and Teens Project, Museums and Libraries.
