In EcoMaratona del Chianti Classico there is also space for hiking enthusiasts with three tasting trips

After two years of hiatus, Castelnuovo Berardenga is preparing to welcome a new edition of EcoMaratona del Chianti, No. 15, with some news also for hiking enthusiasts. On Saturday 15 October, as part of the event that will enliven the region from 14 to 16 October with many events for runners and not only, Chianti Classico Emotions will return with a new composition, walks through the cellars intended for those who love the flavors of the traditions that have made Chianti Classico famous throughout world and for those who want to experience an unforgettable day immersed in the nuances of Chianti landscapes, between the aromas of the just-finished harvest and the new oil ready to be savored. This year, Chianti Classico sentiments will take place in three – “History”, “Tradition” and “Innovation” – with disparate events and programs to rediscover the region and its features.

“We are pleased to be able to renew the Emozioni Chianti Classico project – says Mauro Claricetti, President of the Organizing Committee of EcoMaratona del Chianti Classico – this initiative gives prestige to our event, allowing us to present the products of our land and Chianti Classico, which makes us proud all over the world. The epidemic has forced us to take a break, but we have not been satisfied and have worked to create three initiatives that can meet all needs.Moreover, the event is an opportunity to live a holistic experience, with the possibility of participating, the next day, in one of the sporting events in Chianti Classico EcoMarathon”.

The Chianti Classico Emotions “La Storia” walk will be dedicated to Brolio Castle, which participants can visit with a guide after wine tasting and a light lunch or snack. The appointment is open to 100 participants divided into two groups, who will travel by bus from Castelnuovo Berardenga and back and will travel approximately 2 km to fully experience the event. The registration fee is 50 EUR for the group tasting a light lunch and 40 EUR for the group tasting a snack. Prices include all services, including bus transportation.

The “La Tradizione” Chianti Classico Emotions walk includes a visit to the village of San Gusmè, Tenuta di Arceno and the farm of Félsina with a maximum of 150 members, divided into 3 groups of 50 people traveling about 10 km. Participants will depart from Castelnuovo Berardenga by bus in the direction of San Gusmè where, after a short stop with a welcome breakfast served by Boschetto Campacci’s restaurant “Da Filetto”, they will begin a walk in the direction of Arceno, down a lane and dirt road.. for 2.6 km to the famous Viale dei Cipressi . You will be informed of the area by an eco-guide, before tasting wine accompanied by local produce at Tenuta di Arceno. A 6.5 km long gravel road and vineyards will lead participants to the Félsina farm, where the cellar will be served and wine tastings with local products will be performed. The visit will end with a walk back to Castelnuovo Berardenga. The registration fee is 50 euros and includes all services, including bus transportation.

The “Innovation” Chianti Classico Emotions procession is open to 4 groups of 50 people each, with a maximum of 200 members who will receive the used tasting glass and a shoulder strap for transport free of charge and they will be picked up in a carriage of 28 people.. Departure is scheduled from Hotel Fontanelle in Castelnuovo Berardenga with a layover, A 1.4 km walk, in the company of Vallepicciola. Here the participants will be able to visit the cellar and taste the local products that the cellar restaurant itself offers with wine. The appointment will then continue for another 1.4 km of walking towards the Cappellina Company, where there is a tour of the cellar, and continue tastings of wine and local produce. The walk will resume another 1.5 kilometers in the direction of the Pensieri di Cavatina farm, which will serve wine with local products and a small dessert with a glass of Vin Santo. A 1.2 km walk will take participants back to the transfer meeting point to reach Castelnuovo Berardenga. The entire road is on an unpaved, flat and easy road. In case of critical weather, truck transportation is provided for transportation from the cellars. The registration fee is 55 euros and includes all services, including truck transportation.

EcoMarathon of Chianti Classico. Feelings Chianti Classico will be an opportunity to immerse yourself in the food and wine traditions of an unusual region and experience a weekend in Chianti by participating in one of the Chianti Classico EcoMarathon events. Four competitive distances Athletes of different characteristics and levels of readiness can challenge themselves by running through vineyards, trails and stunning landscapes. The party will begin on Friday 14 October, when the historic center of Castelnuovo Berardenga will frame the sentiment of the 3 x 1.500 m relay, while on Sunday 16 October the shooting races will take place: EcoMaratona del Chianti Classico (42 km / 900 d. +), EcoMaratonina del Chianti Classico (21 Departures will be closed by Nordic EcoPasseggiata and FitWalking 10Km, a non-competitive free pace and technically undemanding event.
