Migros Asiago triumphs in Ljubljana and now follows the Slovenes in the standings. Friday Stars in the Continental Cup in Slovakia.
The first half played with great balance between the two teams even if it was the Giallorossi who had the best chances to take the lead. In the end, efforts are rewarded with coaching by Barrasso. Two minutes after the end of the break, Cepon is sent to the bench to keep it and Migross Asiago takes advantage of it: the second block of powerplay traps Morrone’s goal and in the end he finds the opening goal with Misley, skilled in serving a rebound 14 seconds before the siren.
In the second period, the star show continues. But goalkeeper Anthony Moroni is putting up a good fight. But Asiago accelerates after the end of the first half. Indeed, in the 31st minute, Salinitri goes like lightning on the right, puck in the middle for McShane who beats Morrone and puts his team ahead 0-2. Shortly after Mesley got a volley from the third goal, but Moroni made incredible saves on the goal line. Three and a half minutes after the end of the break, Gareffa recovers the ball in the no-man’s land and flies towards Valeni’s goal, and then hits the weighed-down goalkeeper with an accurate shot at the edge of the post.
Many chances also in the third half with Ljubljana more dangerous but the score remains 1-2 and so we come to the last minutes in which Barasso’s team struggles to win the whole contribution: Civic calls a time-out and removes Moroni from the door to attack Vallini & Co. Olympia spins the ball well, but in the end it is not very effective, and so at the final whistle Asyago can celebrate their second victory in a row, and their fourth in the last five matches.
Thus, Migross Supermercati Asiago hockey gives itself from the ICE Hockey League to plunge into the semi-finals of the Continental Cup that will take place this weekend in Nitra in Slovakia.
