Prime Video confirms Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn as the central couple in the next chapter of the hit college drama
Prime Video has confirmed that Season Two of its breakout young adult drama Off Campus will centre on the evolving romance between Allie Hayes and Dean Di Laurentis, as the streaming platform looks to build on the strong global performance of the series’ debut season.
Returning cast members Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn will take leading roles in the upcoming season, reprising their characters after their storyline was introduced during the first season of the adaptation based on Elle Kennedy’s bestselling Off Campus book universe.
The announcement signals a continued investment by Prime Video in the romance-driven college drama genre, particularly among younger audiences, where the series has already demonstrated significant traction.
Prime Video builds on strong first-season momentum
According to figures released by Prime Video, Off Campus Season One became the No. 3 most-viewed debut season of any series in the platform’s history. During its first 12 days of release, the series attracted 36 million viewers worldwide.
The show now ranks behind only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season One and Fallout Season One among Prime Video’s most-viewed debut seasons. The platform also stated that among women aged 18 to 34, Off Campus delivered the most-viewed series debut season of all time for Prime Video.
The performance reflects continued demand for youth-oriented streaming content that blends romance, drama, and ensemble storytelling. Industry analysts have increasingly identified younger female viewers as a key audience segment for subscription streaming platforms competing for engagement and retention.
Season Two to focus on fan-favourite romance
Series creator Louisa Levy said the creative team intends to expand on the relationship arc established during the first season while maintaining the ensemble format that helped drive audience engagement.
“We are so excited to continue Allie and Dean’s story as our primary romance of season two after kickstarting their romance in season one. But if you fell in love with Hannah and Garrett, don’t worry — they will still be an integral part of our robust ensemble. We’re looking forward to telling the next chapter of everyone’s story. There’s a lot for fans to look forward to!”
The series follows an elite college ice hockey team and the women connected to them as they navigate relationships, heartbreak, identity, and friendship while transitioning into adulthood.
The franchise has benefited from an established fan base built through Kennedy’s commercially successful novels, which have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and been translated into over 25 languages.
Cast combines emerging talent with established names
Mika Abdalla returns to the series after previously leading Hulu’s comedy Sex Appeal. She also appeared in the 2024 independent feature Snack Shack opposite Gabe LaBelle and in the critically recognized series The Pitt.
Stephen Kalyn, a Canadian actor, continues his role as Dean Di Laurentis following appearances in Gen V, Cruel Intentions, Motorheads, and Essex County.
Season Two regulars will also include Ella Bright, Belmont Cameli, Antonio Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks, and India Fowler. Philipa Soo, known for Hamilton and Dopesick, is set to recur during the season.
The production team remains led by creator Louisa Levy, who co-showruns and executive produces the series alongside Gina Fattore. Executive producers also include Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and James Seidman for Temple Hill, as well as Leanna Billings and Neal Flaherty.
Franchise adaptation strategy continues to pay off
The success of Off Campus underscores the continued value of adapting established literary properties for streaming audiences. Similar strategies have generated strong results across the industry, particularly in the young adult and romance categories, where built-in fan communities can accelerate viewership and online engagement.
Prime Video has increasingly expanded its investment in serialized franchise content, balancing large-scale fantasy and action productions with relationship-focused dramas aimed at younger demographics.
In addition to Off Campus, the platform’s programming lineup includes high-profile Amazon MGM Studios titles such as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Fallout, Reacher, and The Boys.
Prime Video also continues to broaden its content offering through subscription partnerships with services including Sportsnet, TSN, Paramount+, Apple TV+, Crave, STARZ, AMC+, BritBox, and STACKTV.
With Season Two now officially centred on one of the franchise’s most popular couples, Prime Video appears positioned to further capitalize on the strong audience response that turned Off Campus into one of the streamer’s fastest-growing young adult properties.
