Credentials of the new Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Today, Saturday morning, January 14, Pope Francis presented the letters of accreditation to the Holy Church, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Mr. Ilkar Yusif Oglu Mukhtarov received them in the audience.

Diplomatic Representative, born 29 September 1969 in Baku, married and has one son. He holds a degree in Oriental Studies from Baku State University. He attended courses on international relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and at the Faculty of International Relations and International Law of Baku State University. He has held the following positions: Coordinator at the International Students Office of Baku State University (1991-1996); Attaché, Europe, USA and Canada at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – May (1996-1998); Third Secretary, then Second, then First Secretary, Embassy to the United States (1998-2005); Deputy Permanent Observer, Organization of American States (2001-2005); First Secretary, First Regional Directorate of May (2005); Head of US Department, First Regional Directorate of MAE (2006); Counselor, Embassy to the United States (2007-2008); Those in charge Interim advertising, Mexico Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the United States (2008-2009); Ambassador to Mexico (2009-2016), with accreditation to Costa Rica, Guatemala, Colombia, Panama, Peru, and, since 2013, Honduras; Director of the Europe Department, May (2016-2022).

Our newspaper sends its congratulations to the new Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilaka Yusif Oglu Mukhtarov, as he assumes his high post.
