Toronto country-rock artist builds momentum following high-profile Ontario performances
Toronto-based country-rock artist Bree Taylor has released her new single “More,” adding fresh momentum to a breakout year that has already included a 2026 CMAOntario Songwriter of the Year nomination and a pair of high-profile performances alongside U.S. country-rock band Lakeview.
The single arrives following Taylor’s May concert run, where she served as direct support for Lakeview during two consecutive appearances in Ontario. The performances included a May 15 show at Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern and a May 16 appearance at Thunder Valley Semi Races 2026 in Nipissing, Ont.
“More” is the latest addition to Taylor’s growing catalogue, which has surpassed 2.6 million streams across multiple releases. The release also comes at a time when the artist is continuing to gain national exposure through radio airplay and increased live performance opportunities.
New release follows award recognition and expanding audience
Taylor’s latest single follows her recent CMAOntario Songwriter of the Year nomination for the original track “I Regret You.” The nomination marks another milestone for the independent artist, whose recent releases have continued to build traction within Canada’s country and country-rock music markets.
The singer-songwriter has also received national airplay on SiriusXM Top of the Country radio and recently released her latest project, “Worship.”
Industry visibility has continued to grow alongside her streaming numbers and touring schedule. Taylor’s consecutive support appearances with Lakeview placed her in front of audiences in both Toronto and Northern Ontario within a 24-hour period, broadening her reach across key Canadian live music markets.
Horseshoe Tavern and Thunder Valley appearances highlight growing profile
Taylor’s Toronto performance at the Horseshoe Tavern carried additional significance given the venue’s longstanding reputation within Canada’s live music scene. Operating since 1947, the venue has hosted generations of Canadian artists and remains a recognized stage for emerging and established performers alike.
The following evening, Taylor transitioned from the intimate Toronto club setting to a large-scale outdoor audience at Thunder Valley Semi Races 2026, one of Northern Ontario’s major summer events.
The back-to-back performances underscored the increasing demand for Taylor’s live shows and reflected the momentum surrounding her current release cycle.
Independent artist continues to expand presence across Canada and U.S.
Taylor has established herself as an independent artist with a growing presence across both Canadian and U.S. markets. Supported through FACTOR funding, she has steadily built a catalogue that blends country and rock influences while focusing on emotionally driven songwriting.
Her collaborations with Nashville-based production teams have also contributed to the development of her recent material and broader commercial reach.
According to promotional materials accompanying the release, Taylor’s songwriting draws heavily from personal experience and emotional authenticity, elements that have helped her cultivate a loyal and expanding fanbase.
Her latest single “More” is expected to further build on that momentum as she continues to capitalize on a year marked by award recognition, increased radio exposure and major support slots.
“More” positioned as latest step in breakout year
The release of “More” arrives during what has become a pivotal year for Taylor’s career trajectory. Between her CMAOntario nomination, national airplay, streaming growth and recent performances with Lakeview, the artist continues to strengthen her profile within the Canadian country-rock landscape.
With a growing catalogue, expanding touring opportunities and increased industry recognition, Taylor enters the second half of 2026 with significant momentum behind her latest release.
