Prince Albert Transit will operate buses on an hourly schedule on Thursday, October 1, and Friday, October 2, with several routes departing the downtown transfer station at staggered times throughout the day.
The temporary schedule affects the West Flat, Rush Hour, All Day, East Flat, West Hill and East Hill services. The Core Express route will not operate during the two-day period.
The City is advising transit users to check current schedule information before travelling, as further revisions may be announced if operating conditions change.
West Flat, Rush Hour and All Day Buses to Run Hourly
Under the October 1 and 2 schedule, West Flat, Rush Hour and All Day buses will operate once every hour.
These buses will begin their hourly trips from the downtown transfer station at 15 minutes past each hour. Passengers who regularly use these routes should plan their trips around the adjusted departure pattern and allow additional time for connections where necessary.
Hourly service means riders may face longer waits if they miss a scheduled departure, making advance trip planning particularly important during the temporary operating period.
The downtown transfer station serves as a central connection point in Prince Albert’s transit network, allowing passengers to move between routes serving different areas of the Saskatchewan city.
East Flat, West Hill and East Hill Routes Depart at 45 Minutes Past the Hour
Passengers using the East Flat, West Hill and East Hill routes will also have hourly service on Thursday and Friday.
Downtown Departures Scheduled for 45 Minutes Past Each Hour
These three routes will leave the downtown transfer station at 45 minutes past each hour. The staggered departure times separate them from the West Flat, Rush Hour and All Day services, which will depart at 15 minutes past the hour.
The arrangement provides transit service across several Prince Albert neighbourhoods while the reduced hourly schedule remains in effect.
Passengers who need to transfer between services should pay close attention to the departure times, particularly because the hourly frequency may result in longer connection periods than under more frequent service.
Core Express Bus Will Not Operate
The Core Express bus will not be in service during the announced schedule period.
The suspension means passengers who normally depend on the Core Express may need to use another available route or adjust their travel plans. No replacement Core Express schedule was announced as part of the October 1 update.
The transit notice did not provide additional details about the reason for the temporary hourly schedule or the Core Express service suspension.
Passengers Advised to Monitor Transit Updates
Prince Albert Transit is encouraging riders to check for the latest information on routes and schedules while the temporary arrangements are in place.
The current schedule is expected to remain effective unless additional changes are announced. Any revisions will be published once updated information becomes available.
For commuters, students, workers and other residents relying on public transportation, checking the latest schedule before leaving could help avoid extended waits at stops or missed connections.
The hourly operating schedule covers both Thursday, October 1, and Friday, October 2. West Flat, Rush Hour and All Day buses will depart downtown at 15 minutes past each hour, while East Flat, West Hill and East Hill buses will depart at 45 minutes past each hour.
Until Prince Albert Transit issues another update, those arrangements will remain in effect, with the Core Express continuing to be unavailable during the announced service period.
