Canadian visitors are making a big splash in Dubai’s luxury tourism sector, with a surge in yacht and jet ski charters reported by leading operator Seven Yachts.
Founded by entrepreneur Steve Laidlaw and managed day-to-day by Clare Laidlaw, Seven Yachts has become a go-to for premium maritime experiences along Dubai’s glittering coastline. Over the past year, the company has recorded a double-digit increase in bookings from Canada, fuelled by pent-up travel demand, favourable exchange rates, and Dubai’s growing appeal as a winter sun destination.

“Canada has always been an important market for us, but the last 12 months have seen extraordinary growth,” said Steve Laidlaw. “We’re seeing more families, groups of friends, and even corporate travellers from Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal opting for private charters that combine luxury, privacy, and adventure.”
The Seven Yachts fleet features vessels from 27 to 90 feet, offering tailored itineraries that include cruising past the Burj Al Arab, anchoring at The World Islands, or enjoying sunset views from the Arabian Gulf. For thrill-seekers, the company now offers exclusive designer-branded jet skis, blending high performance with high style, available from AED 500/hour for a limited time.

“Dubai’s reputation as a playground for luxury travel continues to grow,” added Clare Laidlaw. “Our Canadian guests love the seamless service, warm weather, and the ability to explore Dubai from the water – it’s a perspective that’s completely unique.”
According to Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, international visitor numbers from North America are on a steady rise, with Canadians among the fastest-growing segments. Seven Yachts plans to expand its fleet in 2025 to meet the demand, including more bespoke packages aimed at long-haul travellers.
