Turner, a subsidiary of Spanish construction company Acs, will be responsible for the renovation of five of the eleven stadiums that will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Chief among these is Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, which seats 76,400 and is currently undergoing a complete renovation, according to a report by the “Cinco Dias” newspaper.
In California, Turner built Los Angeles’ Sophie Stadium and San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium, which held 68,500 spectators over a nearly nine-year lifespan. Turner’s fourth World Cup venue is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Lincoln Financial Field, seating 68,500, opened in August 2003.
The fifth ACS plant in the United States is the Seattle Lumen Field in Washington. In addition to these venues, three more in Mexico (Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, BBVA Bancomer Stadium in Monterrey and Akron Stadium in Guadalajara) and two in Canada (BMO Field in Toronto and BC Place in Vancouver) will play in 2026. .
