Prime Video has released the official trailer for Neagley, a new action series starring Maria Sten that expands the television world established by Reacher. The eight-episode series is scheduled to debut globally on September 16, following the Reacher Season Four finale.
The series will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories, giving the streaming platform another action-focused franchise title based on characters created by British author Lee Child.
Neagley Builds on the Reacher Television Universe
Neagley centres on Frances Neagley, played by Sten, a private investigator based in Chicago who previously served alongside Jack Reacher in the U.S. Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit.
The character is already familiar to viewers of Reacher, where Neagley has emerged as one of Reacher’s most trusted former military colleagues. The new series shifts the focus to her own investigation and personal history.
According to the series synopsis, Neagley learns that a close friend from her past has died in circumstances presented as a suspicious accident. Determined to uncover what happened, she draws on the investigative and combat skills developed during her military career.
Her pursuit of answers ultimately leads her towards a wider and increasingly dangerous threat.
Maria Sten Leads Ensemble Cast
Sten leads the cast as Frances Neagley, while Alan Ritchson is set to make a guest appearance as Jack Reacher, maintaining a direct connection between the two series.
The supporting cast includes Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph as Renee Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones as Keno, Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow and Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole.
The September launch has been positioned immediately after the conclusion of Reacher Season Four, allowing Prime Video to move directly from its established series into the new spin-off.
All eight episodes of Neagley will be released simultaneously rather than following a weekly rollout.
Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios Produce Series
The series is based on the Neagley character featured in Child’s novels and is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios.
Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton created the television series and serve as executive producers and co-showrunners. Santora’s previous credits include Reacher, Prison Break and FUBAR, while Wootton has worked on productions including Scorpion and The Endgame.
Child, who created the literary characters behind the franchise, is also an executive producer. Other executive producers include Don Granger, Sam Hill, Adam Higgs and Lisa Kussner.
Hill directed the first two episodes. Carolyn Harris, Kenny Madrid and Niko Fernandez oversee the project for Paramount Television Studios.
Spin-Off Extends Prime Video’s Action Programming
The launch represents a further expansion of Prime Video’s scripted action catalogue and gives the service another series connected to an existing franchise.
Prime Video’s broader Canadian offering includes films, television series and live sports. Its sports programming includes the NHL, NBA, WNBA and Professional Women’s Hockey League, while Canadian customers can also access additional subscription services through the platform, including Crave, Sportsnet, TSN, Paramount+, BritBox and STACKTV.
Customers without a Prime membership can also use Prime Video to access eligible add-on subscriptions and rent or purchase individual titles.
Neagley Set for Global September Release
The release of Neagley will test whether a supporting character from Reacher can anchor a standalone series while retaining the audience and action-driven format associated with the original programme.
With Sten moving into the lead role and Ritchson returning as a guest star, the series maintains ties to Reacher while establishing a separate storyline centred on Neagley’s investigative career.
All eight episodes of Neagley are scheduled to arrive on Prime Video on September 16, immediately following the Reacher Season Four finale.
