French Young Adult Original Film Adapted from Emma Green’s Bestselling Trilogy
Prime Video has released the official teaser trailer for You+Me – Against the World, its first French Young Adult Prime Original film, with the romance drama set to premiere globally on September 18.
The film is based on the bestselling Toi+Moi trilogy by French author Emma Green, a series that has sold nearly one million copies in France. The adaptation stars Vittoria Di Savoia and Lucas Barski in the lead roles of Alma Lancaster and Vadim Arcadi.
Produced by Prime Video and Originals by Trésor, a Trésor Films company, the film will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Story Centers on Two Opposites Drawn Together by Circumstance
You+Me – Against the World follows Alma Lancaster, an 18-year-old from a wealthy family who appears to be living the life expected of her. While her family believes she is studying law, Alma secretly pursues her true passion: filmmaking.
Her path crosses with Vadim Arcadi, a 20-year-old student described as a charismatic but solitary rebel carrying the weight of a troubled past. When the pair are assigned to work together on a student film project, their initially difficult relationship evolves into a deeper connection.
As they grow closer and eventually fall in love, external forces threaten to undermine their relationship. According to the film’s synopsis, an unknown observer is watching them and is determined to expose secrets that could jeopardize both their futures.
The project aims to blend romance, mystery and coming-of-age themes, targeting a young adult audience that has increasingly embraced international adaptations of popular literary franchises.
Prime Video Expands Its Young Adult Content Strategy
The release marks a significant step in Prime Video’s ongoing investment in young adult programming. The company said the film arrives ahead of the expected launch of Campus Drivers, another French young adult production scheduled for later this year.
The strategy follows the international popularity of youth-oriented titles such as the Culpables trilogy adaptation, Maxton Hall, and more recently Off Campus. Together, these projects reflect Prime Video’s effort to strengthen its position among younger viewers and expand its catalogue of internationally produced original content.
Industry observers have noted growing demand for adaptations of successful book series, particularly those with established fan communities. By drawing on a literary property with strong sales performance in France, Prime Video is seeking to capitalize on that trend while broadening the reach of French-language productions on the global stage.
Creative Team Behind the Production
The film is directed by Manon Gaurin, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Eliane Vigneron and Alix Letribot.
The adaptation is based on Toi+Moi, the literary work by Emma Green published by Editions Addictives. Production duties were handled by Originals by Trésor, part of Trésor Films.
Alongside lead actors Vittoria Di Savoia and Lucas Barski, the film introduces a story centred on identity, ambition and the challenges of navigating relationships while confronting personal secrets.
Global Release Scheduled for September 18
With its September launch, You+Me – Against the World will become Prime Video’s first French Young Adult Prime Original film available to audiences worldwide. The release represents another example of streaming platforms investing in locally produced content with international appeal.
As competition intensifies among global streaming services, adaptations of established literary properties continue to serve as a key strategy for attracting dedicated audiences and building long-term franchise potential.
You+Me – Against the World premieres exclusively on Prime Video on September 18 and will be available to viewers in more than 240 countries and territories.
