Globally renowned ensemble continues three-decade tradition of multicultural music and international touring
(TORONTO) — Roy Thomson Hall has announced the return of internationally acclaimed ensemble Pink Martini for a Toronto performance scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2027.
The Portland-based group will perform at Roy Thomson Hall as part of its ongoing international touring schedule, continuing a career that has spanned more than three decades and six continents. Tickets for the concert will go on sale Friday, June 5 at 10 a.m. ET.
Known for blending orchestral pop, jazz, Latin, classical and international musical influences, Pink Martini has built a global following through its multicultural repertoire and theatrical live performances. Founded by pianist Thomas Lauderdale in 1994, the group has become recognized for music that crosses language and cultural boundaries while maintaining a vintage-inspired big band sound.
“Now in its 31st year, the unstoppable engine of joy that is Pink Martini continues to bring founder Thomas Lauderdale’s mission of multi-cultural connection and inclusion to concert stages on six continents,” the announcement stated.
The ensemble’s performances typically feature a combination of multilingual vocals, orchestral arrangements and influences from around the world. Roy Thomson Hall described the group’s style as “a mélange of catchy old-fashioned pop, global colour, foot-tapping big band sound, and Hollywood glamour.”
Over the years, Pink Martini has collaborated with a wide range of vocalists and performers. The group’s lineup has included its original lead singer China Forbes, along with Storm Large, NPR host Ari Shapiro, Edna Vazquez, Jimmie Herrod, Timothy Nishimoto and performer Meow Meow.
The band has also established a significant international touring presence, performing at major venues including the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall in London and Bercy Arena in Paris.
In addition to live performances, Pink Martini has released more than a dozen albums through its independent label Heinz Records. Its most recent release, the EP Bella Ciao, includes the anti-fascist title track performed by Storm Large.
