Community Fundraiser Returns June 6 with Charity Walk, Performances and Family Activities
The Mon Sheong Foundation will bring back its annual Walk & Fun fundraiser on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Richmond Green Sports Centre & Park in Richmond Hill, with proceeds supporting the organization’s development of new long-term care centres.
The event is expected to draw families, community organizations, donors and volunteers for a full day of outdoor activities focused on fundraising and community engagement. Organizers say the initiative aims to combine health, recreation and charitable giving while highlighting the growing need for long-term care services in Ontario.
The fundraising event will feature a three-kilometre charity walk through the trails of Richmond Hill’s largest park, along with a free public fun fair offering games, entertainment and live performances from local talent.
According to the Mon Sheong Foundation, the event is designed to encourage broad community participation while supporting the expansion of care services for seniors.
Charity Walk Registration Open Until June 3
Participants Encouraged to Form Fundraising Teams
Registration is required for those taking part in the charity walk. Businesses, community groups and members of the public are invited to create fundraising teams or join existing ones ahead of the event.
Individual registration is priced at $30, while participants under the age of 18 and adults over 65 may join free of charge. Organizers noted that children and youth participants must register as part of a team that includes at least one adult or senior participant.
The registration deadline for the charity walk is Wednesday, June 3, 2026, although the donation portal will remain active through June 12, 2026.
Organizers are encouraging participants to register early to secure event materials and support fundraising efforts leading up to the walk.
Participants to Receive Event Merchandise and Finishers’ Medals
Walker Packs Include Promotional Gifts and Vouchers
Each registered participant will receive an event T-shirt along with a Walker Pack containing several promotional items and sponsor-supported gifts.
According to event organizers, the pack will include a limited-edition drawstring bag, an exclusive sports towel, personal care products, dining vouchers, snacks and beverages.
Participants who complete the charity walk will also receive a commemorative medal at the finish line.
The Mon Sheong Foundation said the event is intended to provide an inclusive and family-friendly environment while raising awareness and funding for senior care initiatives.
Free Fun Fair to Feature Performances and Interactive Activities
In addition to the fundraising walk, the foundation will host a free public fun fair running throughout the afternoon.
Attendees will have access to interactive game booths, entertainment activities and live stage performances by local performers. Organizers say the free-entry fair is intended to attract residents of all ages and create a broader sense of community participation.
