Loud As Hell Open Air Festival is preparing to mark its 15th edition in Alberta’s Badlands, with organizers opening band submissions for the 2027 event throughout October.
The three-day heavy metal festival is scheduled to run from July 30 to Aug. 1, 2027, in Drumheller, Alberta, bringing extreme music, camping and live entertainment back to one of Western Canada’s most distinctive festival settings.
Bands seeking a place on the 2027 lineup can submit applications from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. Organizers are inviting artists interested in performing alongside Canadian and international heavy music acts, continuing the festival’s focus on both established and emerging performers.
Band Submissions Open for Loud As Hell 2027
The submission period gives metal bands a month to apply for the upcoming edition. Loud As Hell has built its identity around combining heavy music with Drumheller’s internationally recognized Badlands landscape, an area widely associated with dinosaur fossils and prehistoric history.
Beyond live music, the festival traditionally features camping, freak shows, burlesque performances, clinics and vendors.
The event has also attracted recognition from heavy music media and Canadian broadcasters.

Early Bird Tickets Set for December
Early Bird tickets for the 2027 festival are scheduled to go on sale Dec. 1, 2026, giving fans an opportunity to secure admission before subsequent pricing stages.
The anniversary edition will follow a 2026 event that featured Fallujah, Allegaeon, Summoning the Lich, Gravemass, Crimson Shadows, Starkill, Super Monster Party, Mourning High and Edge of Paradise, among other performers.
The festival’s combination of live performances and campground culture has helped draw audiences from across Canada and beyond to Drumheller, approximately 135 kilometres northeast of Calgary.
Festival Builds on More Than a Decade of Heavy Music
Loud As Hell launched in 2012 and has since hosted hundreds of bands, with its annual run interrupted in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Previous editions have featured acts including Revocation, First Fragment, Beyond Creation, Striker, Green Jelly, The Convalescence, Jungle Rot, Narcotic Wasteland, Into Eternity, Goatwhore, Fit for An Autopsy, Archspire, Unleash The Archers, Protest the Hero and AngelMaker.
That history has established the event as a recurring fixture in Western Canada’s heavy music calendar, while its Drumheller location differentiates it from conventional urban music festivals.
2027 Edition Marks 15th Loud As Hell Gathering
The 2027 edition is presented by Loud As Hell Productions, Jurassic Ink Custom Tattoo, Prairie Fire Events and Asher Media Relations.
Organizers say the anniversary event will retain the format that has defined Loud As Hell, combining an extreme-metal lineup with additional entertainment, vendors and camping in the Alberta Badlands.
The festival also works with a network of media, hospitality and music-industry partners, including the Western Canadian Metal Festival Alliance, Bravewords, Metal-Rules, Absolute Underground Mag, Ghost Cult Magazine, This Day In Metal, Valley Brewing, Canalta Hotels, CFUV 101.9 Thrash Can, Slimbztv and High Voltage TV.
With band applications now underway and ticket sales beginning in December, the 2027 edition is entering its first major planning phase. The complete lineup has yet to be announced, but the festival is set to return to Drumheller from July 30 through Aug. 1 for its 15th gathering of heavy music fans in Alberta’s Badlands.
