Blues-rock guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd will return to Toronto’s Massey Hall in 2027 as part of an extended tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Ledbetter Heights.
Shepherd is scheduled to perform on the Allan Slaight Stage at Massey Hall on Saturday, March 27, 2027, at 8 p.m. The Toronto appearance is part of the continued Ledbetter Heights 30th Anniversary Tour, which has been extended into 2027 following an extensive run of performances during 2026.
Tickets for the Massey Hall concert are scheduled to go on sale Friday, September 18, at 10 a.m., with membership pre-sales also available.
Ledbetter Heights Anniversary Tour Continues Into 2027
The tour marks three decades since Shepherd released Ledbetter Heights in 1995, the album that introduced the Louisiana guitarist to a wider audience and helped establish his career in blues-rock.
Throughout the anniversary tour, Shepherd has been performing the album in its entirety for the first time. The shows also include selections from across his three-decade recording career, giving audiences a broader look at his musical development beyond the debut record.
The 2027 extension follows tour dates across the United States and international markets during 2026. Shepherd, a platinum-selling artist and six-time GRAMMY nominee, has built a career around a blend of blues guitar, rock influences and melodic songwriting.
Anniversary Sessions Revisit Shepherd’s Debut Album
The tour also coincides with Ledbetter Heights (The 30th Anniversary Sessions), a newly recorded version of Shepherd’s debut album.
Released in May, the project returns to the original 12-song collection with Shepherd reinterpreting material he first recorded early in his career. The anniversary recording reflects three decades of experience gained through touring, studio work and collaborations while retaining the foundation of the original songs.
Ahead of the anniversary album’s release, Shepherd issued newly recorded versions of “Deja Voodoo,” “One Foot on the Path,” and “Born With A Broken Heart.” The updated recordings provide a contemporary interpretation of material that helped define the guitarist’s early career.
“This is the album that put me on the map. My goal has always been to make timeless music,” Shepherd says. “Unfiltered and straight from the heart.”
Three Decades Since Shepherd’s Breakthrough
Shepherd emerged from Shreveport, Louisiana, as a teenager playing a Fender Stratocaster during the 1990s, when alternative rock and grunge occupied a significant place in popular music.
His approach combined blues traditions with rock-oriented guitar playing and accessible songwriting, helping introduce his music to listeners beyond the established blues audience. Ledbetter Heights became the foundation for a career that would eventually span numerous studio releases, extensive touring and multiple major award nominations.
Three decades later, the anniversary sessions provide Shepherd with an opportunity to revisit those formative recordings with a different perspective. The new versions preserve the central character and energy of the original material while incorporating changes in arrangement and guitar performance developed over years of playing the songs.
Massey Hall Prepares for March 2027 Performance
The Toronto concert will bring Shepherd back to one of Canada’s best-known live music venues. Massey Hall, which opened in 1894, is a designated National Historic Site and has hosted generations of Canadian and international performers.
The venue was built by Hart Massey and gifted to the citizens of Toronto. Today, Massey Hall operates as a charitable not-for-profit organization with activities extending beyond live performances to artist development, educational initiatives and community programming.

The Toronto stop will give Canadian audiences an opportunity to hear Ledbetter Heights performed as a complete work while Shepherd continues a tour built around the album that launched his recording career more than three decades ago.
