Holiday tour marks two decades for Canadian harmony trio
Canadian vocal harmony trio Good Lovelies’ much-loved Christmas Tour returns this December as they celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band.
The concert is expected to feature a blend of holiday classics, winter-themed favourites and original music from the group’s two-decade catalogue. Known for combining folk-roots influences with elements of bluegrass, old-time swing, pop and soul, the trio has built a loyal following across Canada and internationally.
Comprised of Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Susan Passmore, Good Lovelies are recognized for their multi-part harmonies and multi-instrumental performances. Over the years, the group has earned acclaim for its songwriting and live performances, including multiple Juno Award recognitions.
According to the concert announcement, the band’s seasonal repertoire and nostalgic sound continue to resonate strongly with audiences during the holiday period.
Longtime collaborators to join performance
The group will also be joined on stage by several longtime collaborators during the Toronto performance.
Robbie Grunwald will perform on keyboards, alongside Steve Zsirai on upright bass and Mark Mariash on drums.
“We hope you’ll come join in the festivities!” the announcement stated.
The annual Christmas concerts have become one of the band’s signature live offerings, often combining storytelling, seasonal arrangements and audience participation in an intimate theatre setting.
Massey Hall continues focus on Canadian artists and live music
The concert adds to another active season for Massey Hall, one of Canada’s best-known cultural institutions and a designated National Historic Site.
Built in 1894 by Hart Massey, the Toronto venue was originally gifted to the city’s residents and today operates as a charitable not-for-profit organization focused on artist development, community outreach and educational programming.
Following a major revitalization project completed in recent years, the venue has expanded its role within Toronto’s live entertainment sector through the broader Allied Music Centre campus.
Allied Music Centre expands Toronto live music ecosystem
Allied Music Centre now serves as a multi-venue cultural hub dedicated to live music, artist development and creative programming.
The complex includes the restored Allan Slaight Auditorium within Massey Hall, the Muskoka Spirits Basement Bar, TD Music Hall and the Allied Music Centre Theatre. The site also houses The Deane Cameron Recording Studio and creative edit suites designed for both established and emerging artists.
The organization says the facility was designed to support a wide range of musical and educational opportunities for performers, community groups and audiences alike.
The upcoming Good Lovelies concert is expected to draw both longtime fans and new audiences seeking seasonal programming at one of Canada’s most historic performance venues.
Tickets will be available beginning June 5 through Massey Hall’s box office at 416-872-4255 and online through the venue’s ticketing platform.
