East Lansing, Michigan – The Michigan State field hockey team is preparing for a nine-day trip to South Africa for high-level training and competition. In addition, the team will have the opportunity to visit some of the country’s important historical sites and landmarks, including a safari and ferry ride to Cape Point.
“After months of planning, the Spartans cannot wait to head to South Africa today. This will be an experience of a lifetime for our student-athletes and staff,” the head coach said. Helen Knoll. “We will play three matches in and around Cape Town. We will learn about the country’s history and traditions, give back to the local community and enjoy the beauty of the country. We will fly our Spartan flag everywhere we go.” Go and look forward to representing Michigan State in South Africa.”
The Spartans are scheduled to play three matches during their time in South Africa (Bishop Diocesan, Somerset West Hockey Club and Stellenbosch).
