Broadway North Theatre Company Presents Local Production Supported by Malcolm Jenkins Family Foundation
Prince Albert is welcoming a major theatrical event this summer as Broadway North Theatre Company brings the acclaimed musical Come From Away to the stage at the EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts. Supported by the Malcolm Jenkins Family Foundation, the production opened Wednesday, August 12, with strong community interest and more than 2,000 tickets already sold.

The show runs without an intermission, allowing audiences to experience the emotional journey of the award-winning musical from beginning to end.

All 12 cast members take on multiple roles throughout the performance, requiring quick transitions, strong vocal ability and exceptional teamwork to capture the pace and spirit of the original production.

Musical Highlights Gander’s Response During September 11 Crisis
Come From Away tells the true story of what happened when the world came to Gander, Newfoundland, following the September 11, 2001 attacks. After American airspace was closed, 38 aircraft carrying thousands of passengers were diverted to the small Newfoundland community.
What began as a significant logistical challenge quickly became an extraordinary example of generosity and compassion. Residents of Gander welcomed stranded travellers from around the world, opening their homes and providing food, support and friendship during a moment of global uncertainty.
The musical explores how people from different cultures and backgrounds came together despite language barriers and unfamiliar circumstances. Through humour, music and personal stories, the production highlights the connections formed between the local community and the passengers who suddenly found themselves far from home.
Community Support Adds Impact Beyond the Stage
The Prince Albert production also includes a charitable component through the support of the Malcolm Jenkins Family Foundation. For every ticket sold, the foundation will donate $20 to the Ronald McDonald House, helping support families during challenging medical journeys.
Ticket prices are set at $40 for adults, $35 for students and $30 for matinee performances, making the production accessible for a wide range of theatre audiences.
