TORONTO — Massey Hall is bringing acclaimed roots-rock artist Adrian Sutherland to the Allied Music Centre Theatre next spring, marking a high-profile addition to the venue’s 2026 concert lineup. Sutherland, a celebrated singer-songwriter from Attawapiskat in northern Ontario, will perform on March 20, 2026, with tickets set to go on sale Friday, December 5 at 10 a.m. ET.
Massey Hall announced the show on Tuesday, positioning Sutherland as a standout voice in contemporary Canadian roots and rock music. The performance follows a year of mounting momentum for the artist, whose work has increasingly reached national and international audiences.
“Adrian Sutherland hails from the remote village of Attawapiskat in Ontario’s Far North. His melding of roots, rock, folk, and blues creates a signature sound and style all his own, drawing inspiration from his life, the land, and his Cree language and culture,” the release stated.
Sutherland’s career continues to accelerate on multiple fronts. He recently completed his first book for Penguin Random House Canada, with The Work of Our Hands set for release on December 30, 2025. His literary debut adds to a growing list of achievements in the past several years, including JUNO Award nominations in both 2022 and 2025 and Ontario Folk Music Award nominations in 2024 and 2025. He also earned international recognition when he won “Best Americana Album” at the 2025 World Entertainment Awards in Los Angeles.
Much of Sutherland’s rising profile is linked to the success of his sophomore album Precious Diamonds, released in 2024. Recorded in Nashville with GRAMMY-winning producer Colin Linden, the album was named one of the “Top 100 Albums of 2024” by CKUA Radio. It also marked a significant personal milestone: for the first time, Sutherland recorded songs in his first language, Cree.
One of those tracks, “Notawe (Father),” garnered widespread attention. The song reached No. 1 on the Indigenous Music Countdown and appeared on CBC Music’s list of the “Top 100 Songs of 2023,” helping cement Sutherland’s status as both a cultural storyteller and a versatile musician.
For fans, the March performance offers a rare opportunity to experience Sutherland’s music in an intimate setting within Toronto’s Allied Music Centre Theatre, located at 178 Victoria St. The venue, part of the expanded Massey Hall complex, has become a prominent space for showcasing Canadian artists across genres.
Tickets for the show will be available through the Allied Music Centre website or by contacting the Massey Hall box office directly. As noted in the announcement: “Tickets to Adrian Sutherland’s show goes on sale this Friday, December 5 at 10am ET via www.alliedmusiccentre.com or by calling the Massey Hall box office at 416-872-4255.”
With a forthcoming book launch, a critically acclaimed album, and mounting national recognition, Sutherland’s 2026 Toronto performance is expected to draw strong interest. His blend of musical influences and storytelling, rooted in northern culture and lived experience, has helped him build a broad and growing audience.
Massey Hall’s decision to spotlight Sutherland aligns with an ongoing trend of highlighting Canadian artists whose work reflects diverse perspectives and evolving cultural landscapes. The March 20 concert will further position Sutherland among the notable voices shaping Canada’s contemporary music scene.
Tickets go on sale Friday morning, with demand likely to be strong given the artist’s recent achievements and increasing visibility across the country.
