Ottawa’s Capital Punishment Festival will return to the ByWard Market from November 26 to 29, 2026, bringing more than 80 artists to four downtown music venues for what organizers describe as the event’s largest edition to date.

An all-access festival pass costs $50, while individual concert tickets are available separately.

Ottawa Tourism Highlights Cultural and Economic Benefits
The festival receives support through Ottawa Tourism’s Nightlife Tourism Development Fund, which encourages events that attract visitors and strengthen the capital’s nighttime economy.
“Events such as Capital Punishment play an important role in strengthening Ottawa’s profile as a dynamic cultural destination,” says Michael Crockatt, President & CEO of Ottawa Tourism.
Festival organizer Christina Kasper of Chord Productions also emphasized the event’s role in supporting downtown businesses and cultural activity.
“Ottawa Tourism supports this unique music experience through its Nightlife Tourism Development Fund for its efforts in attracting visitors, animating our ACE District, and drawing music enthusiasts from across the region and beyond to enjoy our diverse music ecosystem. By bringing together acclaimed underground artists and local talent, the festival creates opportunities for visitors to explore the city, discover local businesses and venues, and contribute to the economic activity that helps sustain a vibrant and welcoming downtown experience,” adds festival organizer Christina Kasper of Chord Productions.
The festival’s multi-venue format is designed to encourage attendees to move between participating establishments, potentially benefiting nearby restaurants, hotels and other businesses.
