BritBox will premiere the fourth season of BAFTA Award-winning police drama Blue Lights on November 12, extending the streaming service’s lineup of British television programming for Canadian audiences.
The six-episode season will debut with one episode on November 12, followed by a new episode each week through December 17. Season 4 returns to the lives of response officers Grace Ellis, Tommy Foster and Annie Conlon as they confront mounting pressure on the streets and within the police service.
Season 4 Brings New Threats and a Murder Trial
Three years into their careers as response officers, Grace, Tommy and Annie are operating close to their limits. The new season introduces a threat on the streets that police are struggling to contain while also examining the consequences of the murder trial of Gerry Cliff.
The trial brings a long-buried secret to the surface, creating turmoil both within the police and across the criminal underworld. At the same time, the three officers face significant decisions about their futures as they attempt to navigate the personal and professional consequences of the unfolding investigation.
The storyline places the central characters in circumstances that challenge both their relationships and their approach to policing, with the truth surrounding past events becoming a central element of the season.
Returning Cast Includes Siân Brooke, Katherine Devlin and Martin McCann
The fourth season features the return of Siân Brooke, Katherine Devlin and Martin McCann. The ensemble also includes Nathan Braniff, Hannah McClean, John Lynch, Andi Osho, Joanne Crawford and Richard Dormer.
The returning cast continues the character-driven approach that has been central to Blue Lights, which follows frontline police officers and the pressures they encounter while working in Northern Ireland.
The series has received industry recognition for its portrayal of policing and its combination of crime drama with stories focused on the personal lives and relationships of its officers.
