New online hub brings together camps, arts, sports, and educational activities across the community
The City of Prince Albert has launched a new Summer Programs webpage aimed at helping families more easily access information about camps, activities, and seasonal programming offered throughout the community during the summer months.
The online platform serves as a centralized resource featuring programs running in June, July, and August, bringing together offerings from a wide range of local organizations in one accessible location.
City officials say the initiative is intended to simplify summer planning for parents while highlighting the breadth of recreational, cultural, and educational opportunities available to children, youth, and families in Prince Albert.
The webpage includes programming from organizations such as the Margo Fournier Arts Centre, the Prince Albert Historical Society, the Prince Albert Multicultural Council, the Saskatchewan Science Centre, local sports organizations, dance studios, and art studios, among others.
City highlights growing demand for accessible family programming information
According to the City, the new webpage responds to a need for a more streamlined way for residents to discover activities taking place across the community during the busy summer season.
“Our community offers an incredible variety of experiences for all ages, children and youth throughout the summer months,” said Tia Holash, Arts & Culture Coordinator for the City of Prince Albert.
“Whether you or your child wants to paint, perform, explore local history, try a new sport, or discover science through hands-on experiments, there are so many opportunities to learn, create, and connect. We hope this resource helps families make the most of our beautiful Saskatchewan summer.”
Municipal officials say the webpage is designed not only to improve accessibility for residents, but also to increase visibility for local organizations offering summer activities and educational experiences.
The launch comes as communities across Saskatchewan continue to invest in family-focused recreation and cultural programming, particularly during the summer months when schools are closed and demand for youth engagement opportunities rises.
Summer Programs webpage complements existing PA Events Calendar
In addition to the newly launched directory, residents can continue to use the City’s PA Events Calendar to find information about camps, workshops, and family activities taking place throughout Prince Albert.
Users can browse seasonal programming by selecting the “Summer Programs” category filter within the calendar, allowing for easier navigation of events and activities scheduled across the city.
However, the City noted that not all camps and programs are currently listed on the PA Events Calendar, positioning the new Summer Programs webpage as a complementary resource intended to provide broader coverage of available opportunities.
The City also emphasized that the webpage will continue evolving as more organizations contribute information about their summer programming.
Local organizations encouraged to submit additional programming
Prince Albert officials are inviting local organizations that offer camps, workshops, or seasonal activities to participate in the initiative by submitting their programming for inclusion on the webpage.
Organizations hosting summer activities that are not yet listed are encouraged to contact Tia Holash, Arts & Culture Coordinator for the City of Prince Albert, to have their programs added.
The City said expanding participation from community groups will help ensure families have access to the most comprehensive and up-to-date information possible while supporting awareness of local programming opportunities.
The Summer Programs webpage is now available online at www.citypa.ca/summer-programs.
