Munich Alternative Metal Band Builds Momentum With Second Video From Bring Me To Zero
Munich-based alternative metal outfit ANTIROPE is positioning itself at the forefront of a more introspective and atmospheric evolution within the heavy music space, as it releases its latest single and music video, “Intervention.” The track serves as the second visual offering from the band’s upcoming full-length album, Bring Me To Zero, scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, via Eclipse Records.
Germany has long been recognized as a hub for industrial and heavy metal, but ANTIROPE is distinguishing itself by blending the emotional depth of 1990s Seattle grunge with the sonic weight of contemporary alternative metal. With “Intervention,” the band leans into that hybrid identity, delivering a track that emphasizes both sonic heaviness and psychological intensity.
Stripped-Down Visual Approach Highlights Emotional Core
Directed by guitarist Patrick Fleischer, the music video for “Intervention” avoids traditional storytelling in favour of a more immersive and emotionally charged presentation. The visual focuses largely on a studio-style performance, capturing the dynamic presence of vocalist and guitarist Slaven Stokic, bassist Julie Fleischer, and drummer Jürgen “Bam Bam” Wiehler.
The video’s most striking element comes through a series of underwater vocal sequences, designed to evoke a sense of suffocation and internal struggle.
“For myself, it was a physically demanding process to capture these scenes, performing while submerged in a bathtub that visually exhibits distress,” explains vocalist Slaven Stokic. “These moments are not merely for shock value; they provide a visceral metaphor for the emotional weight and tension in the lyrics. The struggle for breath on screen perfectly complements the song’s oppressive atmosphere, making the Intervention mentioned in the title feel like a desperate necessity for the viewer, rather than a choice.”
Fleischer, who also directed the video, emphasized that the creative intent was rooted in mood rather than narrative.
“There isn’t a strict narrative or hidden concept behind the video. Our main goal was to create a visual atmosphere that supports the emotional tension of the song. Lighting, color tones, and the overall imagery were chosen to underline a slightly oppressive, intense mood rather than to tell a specific story. We actually like the idea that viewers can connect their own feelings and experiences to the visuals instead of being guided toward one fixed meaning. The focus was always on translating the song’s emotional weight into a strong but restrained visual atmosphere.”
Upcoming Album Signals Artistic Evolution
The forthcoming album Bring Me To Zero marks a significant step forward for the band, both in production and artistic direction. Produced by Fleischer at Lungfull Studios, the record is expected to deliver a heavier, more refined sound built on strong hooks, layered vocal arrangements, and a powerful rhythmic foundation.
Despite its sonic scale, the album aims to maintain a sense of intimacy, allowing individual elements—from guitar riffs to vocal nuances—to resonate with clarity and intention. The band’s influences remain evident, drawing from the foundational heaviness of Black Sabbath, the textured grit of Soundgarden, and the expansive soundscapes of Neurosis. However, ANTIROPE appears intent on moving beyond homage, crafting a modern identity that merges dense instrumentation with psychedelic undertones and dynamic shifts in intensity.
The album will feature eleven tracks, including “Zero,” “Intervention,” “Afterglow,” and a reinterpretation of Cream’s “Sunshine Of Your Love.” The band has also taken a hands-on approach to the visual presentation of the project, designing the album artwork themselves to reflect its themes of contrast and emotional duality.
Strategic Release Builds Anticipation
With the release of “Intervention,” ANTIROPE continues to build anticipation ahead of the album’s launch. The track underscores the band’s commitment to substance over spectacle, focusing on emotional authenticity and performance-driven impact rather than conventional commercial hooks.
As the May 2026 release date approaches, Bring Me To Zero is shaping up to be a defining project for the band, positioning ANTIROPE as a notable contender within the global alternative metal landscape.
