Massey Hall has announced that celebrated Canadian artists Royal Wood and Fortunate Ones will bring their co-headlining “Have a Heart Tour” to Toronto on April 16, 2026, marking a major stop in what is expected to be one of next year’s standout national tours. Tickets go on sale Thursday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. ET through the venue’s website or by phone.
The tour brings together two acts that have long admired each other’s work but rarely shared the stage. “Longtime fans of each other, Royal Wood and Fortunate Ones are tired of being touring ships passing in the night,” organizers said in a release. “Both are musical miners of the heart, so they decided to call this the Have a Heart Tour. It’s been a long time coming, but well worth the wait!”
Toronto’s Massey Hall, one of Canada’s most storied performance venues, will serve as a fitting backdrop for the collaboration. With a history spanning more than 130 years, the National Historic Site has hosted generations of acclaimed musicians and continues to serve as a key venue for homegrown and international talent.
Royal Wood arrives at the tour with growing global recognition and several major milestones over the past year. His music has amassed more than 30 million streams worldwide and has been featured prominently in television programs such as Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, as well as on playlists from Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. His single “A Good Enough Day,” recently featured in a national TV campaign, is approaching four million streams.
Wood’s 2022 album What Tomorrow Brings earned critical attention and was considered for “Best Folk Album” at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Created in collaboration with industry-leading producers Linda Perry—known for her work with Adele and Alicia Keys—and Jamie Scott, who has collaborated with Ed Sheeran and Michael Kiwanuka, the album marked a period of artistic expansion. According to the release, the project saw Wood “reach new emotional depths and deliver his most powerful collection of music to date.”
Known for a live performance style that blends intimacy with technical mastery, Wood has headlined prestigious venues including Massey Hall itself and Amsterdam’s Paradiso. He has also toured alongside major international artists such as Bonnie Raitt and David Gray, further expanding his reach within the folk and singer-songwriter communities.
Fortunate Ones, the Newfoundland-based duo composed of Catherine Allan and Andrew O’Brien, join the tour following the release of their latest album That Was You and Me. The project was shaped during a period of “isolation, introspection, and honesty,” and reflects on themes of life, loss, grief, and the decision to choose love through hardship. Warm acoustic arrangements and layered harmonies define the album’s sound, a continuation of the duo’s reputation for emotionally resonant songwriting.
“Every part of our lives was changing. It was a big transition period, personally and professionally,” Allan said of the songwriting period. After touring their second album Hold Fast, the duo sought time to “retreat, reconnect, and create,” some of which came unexpectedly following a surgery. The result is a collection of songs shaped by renewal and reflection—material that is likely to resonate strongly with live audiences.
For Massey Hall, presenting the tour aligns with its ongoing mission to support artist development and expand cultural programming in Toronto. Built in 1894 and gifted to the city by Hart Massey, the venue now operates as a charitable not-for-profit focused on community outreach, education and broadening access to the arts. Its historic character and acoustic qualities have long made it a coveted stage for artists across genres.
With both Royal Wood and Fortunate Ones carrying momentum into 2026, the “Have a Heart Tour” stop in Toronto is expected to draw strong interest from fans of Canadian folk, indie and contemporary singer-songwriter genres. The collaboration offers a rare opportunity to see two acclaimed acts known for their emotional depth, lyrical storytelling and live performance craftsmanship share the same stage.
