TORONTO – Acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter Jenn Grant is set to unveil her most ambitious creative project to date with Cradled by the Waves, a multimedia live performance inspired by her forthcoming album Queen of the Strait. The one-time-only Toronto presentation, produced by Massey Hall, will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at TD Music Hall, located at 178 Victoria Street.
Tickets go on sale Friday, November 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. ET, available online at www.tdmusichall.com or through the Massey Hall box office at 416-872-4255.
A New Form of Storytelling
Grant, one of Canada’s most celebrated independent artists, describes Cradled by the Waves as a “living, breathing work of art” — a fusion of music, film, theatre, and dance that reimagines her album Queen of the Strait as an immersive performance experience.
“Cradled by the Waves transforms her forthcoming album, Queen of the Strait, into a stunning multimedia performance blending music, film, theatre, and dance,” the announcement states. “Grant’s most personal work to date, Queen of the Strait draws from her childhood in Prince Edward Island and the timeless pull of the Atlantic. The live experience reimagines those songs in motion – a moving meditation on grief, transformation, and the beauty of beginning again.”
The show is designed to transport audiences into a deeply emotional and sensory world. Each performance will feature a live band, curated film projections, and interpretive dance that flow together to create what organizers describe as “a dreamlike landscape where the songs flow seamlessly into one another.”
Collaboration and Creative Vision
Cradled by the Waves is the result of an extensive creative collaboration with a team of celebrated Canadian and international artists. Among Grant’s partners are her longtime producer Daniel Ledwell, sound designer Joshua Van Tassel, Irish theatre director Julie Kelleher, and cinematographer Daniel Grant. Together, they have crafted a work that exists at the intersection of concert, cinema, and stage performance.
“Co-created with a celebrated team of collaborators including producers Daniel Ledwell and Joshua Van Tassel, Irish director Julie Kelleher, and cinematographer Daniel Grant, Cradled by the Waves invites audiences to reflect on love, loss, and the fragility of life through a communal and deeply emotional lens,” the official statement reads.
The production’s design emphasizes mood and movement, with lighting, film, and choreography woven around Grant’s voice and songwriting. The result is intended to be both visually arresting and emotionally resonant — a space where art and storytelling merge into one shared experience.
Touring Across Canada in 2026
Following the Toronto premiere, Cradled by the Waves will tour select Canadian cities throughout 2026. Each stop will offer a unique iteration of the show, shaped by the venue, audience, and evolving artistic direction. The project, organizers say, aims to blur the boundaries between artist and audience by fostering a sense of shared presence and reflection.
“Step through the Portal and be part of a shared moment that blurs the line between audience and artist – a living, breathing work of art that changes with every performance,” the announcement reads.
The show is co-produced by Jenn Grant, Blue Grace Music, and the National Arts Centre’s National Creation Fund, an initiative that supports large-scale new works from Canada’s leading creators.
A Career of Artistic Exploration
Grant’s reputation as one of Canada’s most imaginative singer-songwriters has been built over two decades of musical experimentation that spans folk, pop, and cinematic soundscapes. Her previous releases have earned multiple East Coast Music Awards and JUNO nominations, while her collaborations — including work with artists such as Buck 65, Sarah Harmer, and Ron Sexsmith — have cemented her standing as a versatile creative force.
With Queen of the Strait, Grant continues to expand her artistic boundaries, exploring themes of memory, nature, and emotional renewal. Drawing on her roots in Prince Edward Island and the vastness of the Atlantic, the album reflects on identity, resilience, and connection.
Merging Art and Emotion
Audiences attending Cradled by the Waves can expect a performance that balances intimacy and spectacle — one that intertwines Grant’s soulful voice with evocative visuals and movement.
Described as both cinematic and introspective, the event marks a significant step forward in Canada’s growing landscape of multidisciplinary performance art. For Massey Hall and TD Music Hall, which have both become hubs for innovative live production, the show continues a long tradition of spotlighting Canadian artists pushing creative boundaries.
Tickets are expected to sell quickly for this limited engagement. Fans and followers of Grant’s work are encouraged to secure seats early to experience what promises to be a landmark event in her career.
