TORONTO — Fans of the wizarding world will soon have the chance to experience the magic of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone like never before. Roy Thomson Hall announced Monday that it will host three performances of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in Concert as part of the global Harry Potter Film Concert Series.
The concert screenings are set for Friday, March 20, 2026, and Saturday, March 21, 2026, with two shows on the Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 10 at 10 a.m. through www.roythomsonhall.com or by calling 416-872-4255.
During each performance, audiences will relive the beloved 2001 film in high definition on a 40-foot screen, accompanied by a live symphony orchestra performing every note of John Williams’ iconic score. The event promises to merge cinematic storytelling and orchestral performance for a fully immersive experience.
The Harry Potter Film Concert Series was created by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and CineConcerts, the only official global concert tour dedicated to the Harry Potter films. Since its 2016 debut, the series has drawn more than three million fans worldwide and is expected to reach nearly 3,000 performances across 48 countries by the end of 2025.
A Global Cultural Phenomenon
“The Harry Potter film series is a once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomenon that continues to delight millions of fans around the world,” said Justin Freer, President of CineConcerts and Producer/Conductor of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. “It is with great pleasure that we bring fans for the first time ever an opportunity to experience the award-winning music scores played live by a symphony orchestra, all while the beloved film is simultaneously projected onto the big screen. This is truly an unforgettable event.”
CineConcerts co-founder and producer Brady Beaubien echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the timeless global appeal of the franchise. “Harry Potter is synonymous with excitement around the world and we hope that by performing this incredible music with the full movie, audiences will continue to celebrate the wizarding world,” Beaubien said.
The film follows Harry Potter as he learns on his 11th birthday that he is the orphaned son of two wizards and possesses magical powers of his own. As he begins his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he discovers friendship, adventure, and danger in equal measure — including a thrilling live-action chess match and a fateful confrontation with a dark wizard bent on his destruction.
A Toronto Cultural Landmark Hosts the Magic
Roy Thomson Hall, located in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District, is no stranger to major cultural events. Opened in 1984 and designed by renowned Canadian architect Arthur Erickson, the 2,630-seat concert hall is home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and hosts many of the Toronto International Film Festival’s gala screenings. The venue is also known for its signature Gabriel Kney Pipe Organ, built by the celebrated London, Ontario, organ maker.
As a registered not-for-profit organization, Roy Thomson Hall focuses on artist development, community outreach, and educational programming alongside its major cultural offerings.
