TORONTO — Massey Hall is expanding its 2026 concert slate with the announcement that acclaimed Americana roots and soul singer-songwriter Shakura S’Aida will return to TD Music Hall on June 19, 2026. The performance will feature special guest Celeigh Cardinal, marking a notable collaboration between two celebrated voices in contemporary Canadian music.
S’Aida revealed the upcoming show during her appearance at last Friday’s Women’s Blues Revue at Roy Thomson Hall, prompting Massey Hall to move quickly to open ticket sales ahead of the holiday season. Tickets will be available beginning Thursday, December 4 at 10 a.m. ET through the venue’s website or by phone via the Massey Hall box office.
The upcoming performance follows a year of strong artistic output for S’Aida, whose newest single continues to build momentum in Canadian roots and soul markets. According to the announcement, “The follow-up to her JUNO-nominated and multi–award-winning Hold On to Love album, Shakura S’Aida’s newest single, ‘Keep It Movin’,’ finds her tapping into classic soul and R&B with unmistakable honesty. Produced by Bes Kept, ‘Keep It Movin’’ hits with vibrant roots-soul energy and old-school R&B swagger.”
Her growing catalogue reflects decades of artistic leadership in Toronto’s music community. For more than 40 years, S’Aida has contributed as a singer-songwriter, bandleader, front-woman, playwright, and producer. Her programming initiative, Shakura S’Aida Presents, aims to deepen connections between audiences and music creators, strengthening the city’s cultural landscape.
S’Aida also maintains close ties with Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall beyond their stages. She is a frequent contributor to both venues’ Education and Community Engagement programs, where she works with secondary school students through hands-on learning initiatives. As the organization notes, “S’Aida also is a regular contributor to the Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall Education and Community Engagement programs, leading innovative workshops on protest songs and authentic stagecraft for secondary school students in Call & Response; and helping students write and record their own songs through Collaborations.”
Her presence at TD Music Hall next June will be complemented by the addition of Cree Métis singer-songwriter Celeigh Cardinal as a special guest. “Shakura is thrilled to be joined by Celeigh Cardinal as a special guest for this performance. Celeigh’s powerful voice and storytelling have earned her widespread acclaim. Her JUNO nominated third studio album, Boundless Possibilities, is a deeply personal journey through grief, independence, and spirituality.”
Cardinal, based in Edmonton, has become a rising force in the folk and roots genres. “The Cree Métis artist from Edmonton, Alberta, has earned the Western Canadian Music Award for Songwriter of the Year, the 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award for Indigenous Songwriter of the Year.” Her growing profile includes involvement in a high-profile residency program tied to the city’s newest major cultural centre: “In 2025, Cardinal was also named one of the three artists in the first-ever official Allied Music Centre Artist in Residence, featuring Sebastian Gaskin, and Julian Taylor. This year-long residency takes place throughout Allied Music Centre – Canada’s newest cultural ecosystem and home of Massey Hall.”
Her connection to TD Music Hall is well established. “In 2024, she graced the TD Music Hall stage twice—once as part of FabCollab Presents: Indigenous Grooves and again during the International Indigenous Music Summit—and recently became the first artist to perform a public concert in the new Allied Music Centre Theatre.”
The June 2026 performance is expected to draw fans of both artists, while reinforcing TD Music Hall’s growing role as a key showcase space for Canadian roots, soul, and Indigenous artistry. With S’Aida’s longstanding influence in the Toronto music community and Cardinal’s rising national profile, the event reflects a strong commitment to nurturing Canadian talent across generations and genres.
Tickets to Shakura S’Aida’s TD Music Hall show go on sale Thursday, December 4 at 10 a.m. ET at www.tdmusichall.com or by calling 416-872-4255.
