Prince Albert’s municipal transit system has resumed most of its regular bus services following earlier disruptions, according to a service update issued March 5, 2026. While several routes are now operating on their standard schedules, the city says one key service — the Core Express — remains temporarily out of operation.
The update signals a return to normal operations for two of the system’s commonly used routes, easing travel for commuters during peak hours.
“The Rush Hour and East Hill buses have resumed their regular operating schedules.”
The resumption of these routes is expected to benefit daily riders who rely on consistent transit service for commuting to work, school, and other essential destinations across the city. Rush Hour services in particular are designed to accommodate higher passenger volumes during morning and evening peak periods, while the East Hill route connects residential areas with commercial and service hubs.
However, not all services have returned. Transit officials confirmed that the Core Express bus — typically a faster route designed to move passengers efficiently through key corridors — remains offline.
“The Core Express bus is not in operation.”
City officials did not provide further details in the update about the reason for the suspension or when the route may return to service. The Core Express line is often used by riders seeking quicker connections across the city, particularly during busy commuting hours.
Aside from that suspension, the remainder of the city’s transit network is operating as normal.
“All other routes are operating as scheduled.”
Prince Albert Transit, which manages the city’s bus system, encouraged riders to monitor official channels for updates throughout the day. Municipal transit schedules can occasionally change due to operational factors such as weather conditions, staffing availability, vehicle maintenance requirements, or other service adjustments.
“Please check Prince Albert Transit for up-to-date information on transit routes and schedules.”
Officials added that the information released in the March 5 advisory represents the current status of the transit network, but riders should remain aware that adjustments could occur.
“Any revisions to today’s schedule will be published as soon as we have that information.”
For the time being, commuters should plan their travel based on the schedule currently in place.
“Until then, the above schedule will be in effect.”
Public transit plays a central role in Prince Albert’s transportation infrastructure, providing daily mobility for residents across multiple neighbourhoods. Regular service updates are commonly issued by the city to keep riders informed of operational changes and help minimize disruptions to commuting patterns.
Transit agencies across Canada routinely publish such notices as part of standard service communication practices, particularly when routes are temporarily altered or restored after interruptions. These updates help riders adjust travel plans and ensure they have accurate information before heading to bus stops.
For riders in Prince Albert, the latest update means most services are back on track, though commuters who typically rely on the Core Express route may need to consider alternative routes until the service resumes.
The city said additional updates will be released if conditions change or if further adjustments to the bus schedule become necessary. Until then, passengers are advised to consult Prince Albert Transit’s official information channels for the most current route and schedule details.
