Canadian singer-songwriter William Prince has released a new concert film documenting his March 2026 performance at Toronto’s Massey Hall, offering audiences an opportunity to experience the show ahead of the release of his first live album on October 23.
The film, titled William Prince Live at Massey Hall, became available through CBC Music on October 20, 2026. Produced by Massey Hall in collaboration with CBC, the recording captures Prince and his full band performing a selection of established favourites and newer material from his catalogue.
The accompanying nine-track album, Live at Massey Hall, will be released through Six Shooter Records on Friday, October 23, across streaming platforms worldwide and in CD format.
William Prince Concert Film Highlights March 2026 Toronto Performance
The concert film was recorded during Prince’s Further From the Country Tour in March 2026, documenting a performance at one of Canada’s most established live music venues.
The production features Prince alongside his full band, presenting arrangements that reflect his songwriting style and blend of folk, country and contemporary roots music.
Adrian Vieni directed and edited the film, while Justin Shane Nace handled the concert recording. Steve Major was responsible for mixing the audio, with Massey Hall overseeing production.
The collaboration with CBC Music extends the performance beyond the venue’s audience, making the concert accessible to viewers across Canada and internationally.
The film is available to watch in full through CBC Music, providing a preview of the performances that will also appear on the forthcoming album.

The release of Live at Massey Hall marks Prince’s first official live album, adding a concert recording to his existing studio catalogue.
The album features nine tracks, beginning with “Further From the Country” and concluding with a reprise of the same song.

Massey Hall’s Longstanding Support for William Prince
The concert film also reflects a longstanding professional relationship between Prince and Massey Hall, which has supported the musician throughout his development as a live performer in Toronto.
The organization presented Prince’s Toronto debut at The Drake Underground and subsequently supported his appearances in the city.
Through the Massey Hall Artist Development Program’s Road to Massey Hall initiative, Prince performed at several Toronto venues before eventually appearing on Massey Hall’s Allan Slaight Stage.
The program provides emerging artists with opportunities to develop their performance experience and establish connections within the live music industry.
From Emerging Performer to Massey Hall Headliner
Prince has since returned to Massey Hall on numerous occasions, including three headlining performances.
One of those appearances featured a co-headlining concert with Canadian singer-songwriter Serena Ryder, further establishing his relationship with the historic Toronto venue.
His progression from smaller Toronto stages to headlining performances at Massey Hall illustrates the role that artist development initiatives can play in supporting Canadian musicians.
The new concert film documents another milestone in that relationship, preserving a performance from Prince’s 2026 tour while making it available to audiences beyond Toronto.
Concert Film and Album Expand Access to Canadian Live Music
The coordinated releases by Massey Hall, CBC Music and Six Shooter Records demonstrate how concert films and live albums can extend the commercial and cultural life of performances beyond a single event.
For Prince, the projects create two ways for audiences to revisit the March concert: through a full-length visual presentation and a standalone audio recording.
William Prince Live at Massey Hall is available through CBC Music, while the accompanying album is scheduled for worldwide release on October 23, 2026.
